Sonata in D minor for violin based on keyboard sonata in D minor, Kk. 77, (L. 168)
According to the concert programme for 11 March 1916, this 'Sonata in D minor for violin' was receiving its 'first public performance'. However, it is clear from the programme notes (p.11) that the work is Tovey's interpretation of a keyboard sonata by Scarlatti. The key of D minor and the two relatively unusual movement titles (moderato cantabile and menuetto) enable the work to be identifed as the keyboard sonata no. 77, Longo no. 168.
