Prelude

Recorded as an introduction to the piece 'Flight from the Assembly' (Dow), the sounds are nearly all synthesised and controlled by computer via MIDI (Musical Instrument Digital Interface).  The beginning is a statement of the 'subject' of Flight ... the intervals of which are based on the Fibonnaci series.  The piece was recorded in a way which comes naturally out of using a multi-track tape recorder: the layering of different strands of sound texture.
