Robertson, Ian
Ian Robertson was born in Dundee and studied at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music & Drama and the University of Glasgow. He has been associated with the Edinburgh Festival Chorus and the Scottish National Orchestra Chorus and has written and conducted music for the theatre. He joined Scottish Opera as Assistant Chorus Director in 1977 and subsequently became head of Music Staff. In 2021 he retired as Chorus Director and Conductor of San Francisco Opera after 35 seasons.
