Murray, Jean, 1956-

Originally from Worcestershire, Jean Murray has lived in Edinburgh for her entire adult life.  She studied flute with David Nicholson and Paul Kingsley.  Since graduating from the Faculty of Music at the University of Edinburgh Jean has worked as a freelance flautist and instrumental teacher and devotes much of her time to music education as Director of both Edinburgh Young Musicians and the Scottish Shools Orchestra Trust. 
Jean Rachel Baxendall married violinist Nigel Murray in 1977.
