Milne, Hamish, 1939-2020
English pianist, b. Salisbury where he received his early musical education as a chorister at the cathedral.
He studied under Harold Craxton at the Royal Academy of Music in London where he won the Chappell Medal.
Subsequently studied in Italy with Guido Agosti in Rome and at the Accademia Chigiana in Siena where he won the Alfredo Casella competition.
Shortly after his return to England he was awarded the Harriet Cohen Commonwealth Medal and in 1977 was elected Collard Fellow of the Worshipful Company of Musicians.
He continued his careeer as an international soloist and as a Professor at the Royal Academy of Music.
