Mahmoud, Yusuf

Yusuf Mahmoud is a young tabla player from an illustrious musical family of Kabul whose forebears were court musicians.  He belongs to the Panjab school of tabla playing and is a student of Ustad Alla Rakha.  He and his family are refugees from the civil war in Afghanistan, were music is nowadays completely banned, and have lived in London for many years.
