Gwilt, John, 1930-2021

Cellist John Gwilt is the husband of cellist Dawn Gwilt and the brother of composer David Gwilt.  He was educated at Sedburgh School and studied cello at the Royal College of Music.  John became a close friend and pupil of Jane Cowan and in 1967 they both began teaching at the International Cello Centre in London (the centre later moved to Edrom House in the Scottish Borders).
