James Robert Williams Dibdin, known as James Caxton Dibdin
Son of Henry Edward Dibdin, teacher of music in Edinburgh and "grandson of the 'tuneful Charles' who gave us 'Tom Bowling' and many another season of the good and old type." (Scottish Musical Monthly, vol. II, no. 15, p. 15)
Orchestral manager for the Reid Concert in 1893 and for many of the Paterson's Concerts presented in Edinburgh and Glasgow in the 1880s and 1890s..
Described in "The Musical Times" of October 1, 1895 as facile princeps (obvious leader) in the field of orchestral management in Scotland.
Mr Dibdin also lectured on music.
