String Quartet no. 3 (a and/or b)

String Quartet 3 is in two parts, a and b, which may be played either separately or as one quartet.

String Quartet 3a was commissioned by the New Town Concert Society with financial assistance from the Scottish Arts Council and The Hope Scott Trust

String Quartet 3b was commissioned by the Faculty of Music, University of Edinburgh with the financial assistance of the Scottish Arts Council and was written for The Edinburgh Quartet.
