Gustav Theodore Holst, b. Cheltenham; d. London 

English composer and conductor of mixed Swedish, Latvian and German ancestry

Gustav Holst was guest conductor at the Reid Concert on 10 November 1926 when he conducted several of his own works in the second half of the programme.
