Russian Funeral (for brass ensemble)
The only work written for brass by Benjamin Britten. It represented Britten's own pacific ideals and was first performed in a London Labour Union concert at the Westminster theatre in 1936. The work remained unpublished and unperformed until revived in 1980 by the Philip Jones Brass Ensemble.
