This Trio is dedicated by Raymond Dodd to his colleagues in the Aberdeen Trio, Donald Hawksworth and Bryan Dargie. By coincidence the pitches indicated by their initials - DHBD - form the opening of the exended piano solo that follows the opening section of the work.
