Overture: "Fidelio"

aka 'Leonora' Overture: no. 4, in E, "Fidelio"

In 1814 the final version of "Leonora" was performed as "Fidelio" with many alterations and skilful revision of the libretto:  New material in the music and a new overture.

Listing of works performed at the Reid Concert or Reid Festival between 1865 and 1888 and printed in the 1888 Reid Concert Programme denotes probable first performance with Grand Orchestra in Scotland at the Reid Festival in 1872.
