Lyrische Suite to Browning's 'Pippa passes'
for soprano, flute and string quartet.
Written in Vienna as incidental music for a theatrical performance of Robert Browning's 'Pippa passes' (1841). It was first scored for soprano, flute, mandolin and string trio in 1935 and later rearranged for soprano, flute and string quartet (1937) and performed independently as a suite of four songs.
