Italian Serenade (for strings)
Written in 1887 as a Serenade in G for string quartet and in 1892 arranged by the composer for chamber orchestra, 2 flutes, 2 oboes, 2 clarinets in B♭, 2 bassoons, 2 horns in G, and strings. Planned as the first movement of three, but a projected slow movement and final Tarantella were never completed.
