Concerto in D minor for two violins and orchestra, BWV 1043
Programme implies first performance in Scotland at the Reid Concert in 1873.
According to the programme notes for this concert, 13 February 1873, p.20, 'The concerto seems to have been brought to light in Germany by professor Dehn, who caused it to be published for the first time, at Leipzig, from the original MS. It was introduced at a recent concert of Mr Hallé's at Manchester, when, performed by the same consummate artists who reproduce it this evening, the work excited the greatest enthusiasm.'
