Cantata: "Wir danken dir, Gott", BWV 29 - excerpt(s) from
Opening sinfonia for organ obligato and orchestra quite often played as work for solo organ. It was composed for the installation of a new Town Council in 1731 and is the composer's transcription of a movement from his E major Partita for solo violin, BWV 1006. There is also an arrangement for solo piano by Siloti (see concert given by Peter Evans on 20 May 1978, first concert of 'Bach at St Cecilia's Hall 1978' series).
