Willson, Rachel Beckles, 1968-

Rachel Clare E. Beckles Willson was born in London.  She is a composer, multi-insrumentalist, researcher and Professor of Music at Royal Holloway, University of London.  As a pianist she studied with Ference Rados and Gyorgy Kurtág at the Liszt Academy, Budapest.  She performed internationally as a pianist but later turned to oud and voice, making a study of Ottoman and Arab traditions.
