Whittaker, Paul, 1964-

Paul Whittaker OBE was born in Huddersfield in 1964 with partial hearing and sight.
Began learning the piano at aged 5, the organ at 12 and choir-training at 13.
Studied music at Wadham College, Oxford and in 1986 took a postgraduate performance course at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester.
In 1988 he founded "Music and the Deaf" to help hearing-impaired people explore and enjoy music and was the Yorkshire Regional winner of the "Young Deaf Achiever" awards.
