Townhill, Vaughan

Richard Vaughan Townhill is a conductor, clarinettist and organist based in Edinburgh.  He was educated at the King's School, Peterborough and was a chorister at Peterborough Cathedral before his studies at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music in Glasgow.  Vaughan was head of Music at Cargilfield School in Edinburgh from 1974 to 2008 and was a founder committee member of the Scottish Schools Orchestra Trust. He is principal clarinet of the Edinburgh Symphony Orchestra and plays with and conducts several other orchestras and ensembles in the city.
