Taylor, Alex

After winning first prizes at the 1986 Oxford Music Festival and the 1987 North London Music Festival, Alex Taylor was invited to work with John Schlesinger on his film 'Madame Sousatzka', recording parts of the soundtrack and working as a hand-double for the young actor playing the leading role of the young pianist.  In 1990 he was invited to perform in the BBC Young Musician of the Year televised masterclass.  Alex Taylor read music at Edinburgh University, graduating with first class honours in 1995 where he studied piano with Peter Evans and subsequently at the Royal College of Music in London with Irina Zaritskaya.   Alex won prizes at national and international competition and gave concerts and recitals around the world before working for several years in production for BBC Radio 3.  In 2007 he moved to Norway.
