Tan, Melvyn, 1956-
Melvin Tan was born in Singapore and came to the UK at the age of 12 to study at the Yehudi Menuhin School. He continued his studies at the Royal College of Music in London. His teachers included Nadia Boulanger, Vlado Perlemuter and Marcel Ciampi and in the 1980s he decided to specialise in the fortepiano.
