Tagore, Ashok
Ashok Kumar Tagore is unique in having trained to be a master of both the tabla and the pakavaj which demand quite different accompaniment styles. These drums belong to the family of tuned percussion in that they have to be finely tuned to match the drone pitch adopted by the musicians.
