Storey, Andrew

Andrew Storey started playing the violin at the age of seven in his home town of Norwich.  He studied as a junior scholar at the Royal Academy of Music in London with Frederick Grinke, Manoug Parikian, and in 1989 took up a scholarship and continued his studies with Carmel Kaine and Erich Gruenberg.  In 1995 he was playing on an Amati violin on loan from the Academy.

He was a member of several different string quartets and played with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra where, in 2022 he is leader of the second violin section.
