Roberts, Bernard, 1933-2013

Bernard Roberts was born in Manchester where his mother had been a pupil of Egon Petri and where his father was on the staff of the 'Manchester Guardian'.  He won a scholarship to the Royal College of Music where he later became a piano professor as his concert career was developing.  He has appeared as a concerto soloist with the BBC, Philharmonia and other national orchestras and made regular appearances at the Promenade concerts and on televison.
