Martineau, Malcolm, 1960-

Malcolm Martineau began his musical training in Edinburgh.  In 1978 he was a semi-finalist in the BBC Young Musician of the Year, which led to a recital for BBC Scotland.  After graduating from St Catherine's College, Cambridge in 1981 he continued his studies at the Royal College of Music in London with Kendall Taylor.  In 1983 he was awarded the Peter Pears Accompanist Prize and the Royal Overseas League prize for accompaniment and in 1984 he made his Wigmore Hall and South Bank debuts.
