Scottish classical pianist and composer, and the second-last surviving pupil of Franz Liszt
Beethoven specialist who toured regularly in Europe and settled in Berlin

In 1986, The Scottish Piano Competition was established in tribute to Frederick Lamond, the legendary Scottish pianist and pupil of Liszt who gained international renown at the turn of the 19th/20th centuries.
