Halstead, Alfred, 1863-1932
Born in Blackburn, Lancashire, flautist Alfred Halstead was the elder brother of Philip E. Halstead.
A pupil of Edward de Jong he was principal flute with the Halle Orchestra for a time until the late 1920s.
Played with the Scottish Orchestra in Glasgow and died in Edinburgh in 1932.
