Sarah Ellen (Nellie) Marshall was born in Huddersfield, Yorkshire, the daughter of Joshua Marshall professor of music, pianoforte maker, dealer and merchant.
Mother of Olga Haley and accompanied her daughter who was a singer.
Nellie trained as a teacher of pianoforte and married Edward Haley (1862-1926), professor of music amd pianoforte dealer, in 1891.
