Grundy, John

John Grundy was born in Nottinghamshire.  He graduated from the University of Edinburgh, Faculty of Music in the early 1970s and until the late 80s was active in the Edinburgh as a clarinettist, pianist, conductor (Edinburgh University Singers and Edinburgh Grand Opera) and music teacher before moving to Australia in 1988.  On his his return from Australia he spent a year as head of the music centre at the University of St Andrews before taking up the post of Director of Music at St Mary;s Music School in Edinburgh.  In 2006 he moved to Sheffield and founded a Music Academy in the city.
