Dunn, John Petrie, 1878-1931

Scottish pianist, theorist, and writer on music.  Author of 'Ornamentation in the Works of Frederick Chopin'. 
Born in Edinburgh, he attended George Watson's College.

Bucher Scholar, Faculty of Music, University of Edinburgh, 1899-1902.
Professor of piano at Stuttgart Conservatoire from 1902.
Vice-Principal Municipal Conservatory, Kiel.
Lecturer in music at the University of Edinburgh from 1920 to 1931.

Died 1931 in a road traffic accident in Edinburgh
