Dean, Andrew

Andrew Dean ws born in Sussex and started playing the piano at the age of six and the organ when he was ten, learning with distinguished organist Nicolas Kynaston at Westminster Dathedral.  Later studies took him to the University of Edinburgh, where he studied organ with Philip Sawyer and Professor Peter Williams. 
After leaving Edinburgh he taught at St Andrews University and Bradfield College before moving to Manchester in 1986.  He has been Director of Music at Manchester Grammar School and Withington Girls School and teacher of academic music and organ at both Chethams School of Music and the Junior RNCM . In 2011 he had just completed five years as Choral Director at Leeds Met University   He enjoys a busy career as an organist, examiner, conductor, adjudicator and performer.
