Cullen, Jenny, 1890-1957

b. Glasgow, daughter of Elsie Cullen

Member of the Verbrugghen String Quartet.

Jenny Cullen studied with Belgian violinist Henry Verbrugghen at the Scottish Academy of Music and played violin with the Scottish Orchestra.

In 1915 she served as concert master with the State Symphony Orchestra of Sydney, Australia under the conductorship of Henri Verbrugghen.
She travelled in 1923, with Henri Verbrugghen (conductor), to Minneapolis where she became the first female member of that orchestra.
