Brooks, Hazel
Hazel Brooks read languages at Clare College, Cambridge, also spending time at Universities in Russia and Germany. After graduation she studied violin at the Hochschule für Music und Theater in Leipzig, and at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London, where she received a scholarship to study with Micaela Comberti. Hazel won the 1997 Christopher Kite Memorial Prize and the 1998 Bankers Trust Pyramid Award. As a specialist in baroque and classical violin she appears regularly as a soloist and in chamber ensembles, in Britain and abroad as well as with many of the leading period instrument orchestras.
