Borrett, Joanna

Joanna Borrett studied with Christopher Bunting and won scholarships to study at the Royal Academy of Music in London and the Tchaikovsky Conservatoire in Moscow.  At 21 she was invited to tour North America with the Scottish Ensemble with whom she has also performed concertos.  In 1982 she made a successful solo debut at the Wigmore Hall and in 1983 she founded the Peterborough String Orchestra which developed an enviable reputation during her two-year directorship.
