British composer and son of an eminent Scottish surgeon.
In 1920 the University of Edinburgh awarded Professor Granville Bantock an Honorary D. Mus.
Professor Sir Granville Bantock conducted the Reid Symphony Orchestra at the Annual Reid Concert in 1925.
