Sirocco Winds are a dynamic and professional wind ensemble comprising Master graduates of the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland (RCS). Although based in Glasgow, its members come from all over the UK. They were formed in 2012 and pride themselves on being a young, enthusiastic and vibrant group who represent some of the finest vocal and instrumental talent in the country. Successes for the group include winning the Governors' Recital Prize for Chamber Music at the RCS, playing live on BBC Radio 3 and BBC Radio Scotland, and performing in prestigious music festivals including the St Magnus International Festival, Aberdeen International Youth Festival and Live Music Now's Emerging Artists Series at the Usher Hall, Edinburgh.
They work both as a wind quintet and a wind trio (flute, clarinet, bassoon) and enjoy exploring chamber music for other instrumental combinations. Individually members of the group have worked with orchestras and ensembles such as the Royal Scottish National Orchestra, the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, the BBC Philharmonic, Scottish Chamber Orchestra and the Scottish National Jazz Orchestra.
