Mr Moonie's Choir
Conducted by James Anderson Moonie, Mr Moonie's Choir appeared for the first time in a concert on 19th March 1897 at the Music Hall, George Street, Edinburgh.
The male voice choir with which Mr Moonie had been associated for many years was discontinued and in its place a large mixed voice choir was created.
At the time in 1897 there was demand from local amateur singers in Edinburgh for such a choir and from the very outset the membership was over one hundred strong.
