Rodger Mirrey Memorial Concert
The late Dr Rodger Mirrey assembled an important collection of twenty-two early keyboard instruments (dating from 1574 to circa 1820) in his London home. Rodger Mirrey was a consultant psychiatrist who frequently visited St Cecilia's Hall Museum of Instrument, and had the connoisseurship to acquire the finest instruments as they became available. Two years before his death he donated the entire collection to the University of Edinburgh, where it is now housed at St Cecilia's Hall. This great act of generosity has significantly augmented the University's historical resources for teaching, research and performance. He died in April this year [2007].
