It is likely that Kenneth Leighton was the soloist in his own piano concerto and that John Fairbairn conducted the work, but this is not stated in the programme. It is also not recorded who conducted the other works in the programme.

It is stated in the programme notes that Leighton's piano concerto no. 3 received the first performances at Wolverhampton and Birmingham on 11 and 12 March 'this year', so it is likely that the work was receieving its Scottish premiere on this occassion.
