Quintetto Mabellini was formed in 1987 in Pistoia.  The ensemble attended the Accademia Chigiana summer courses in Siena under the guidance of Hansjorg Schellenberger (principal oboe with the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra) winning various scholarships and awards.
