The programme announced that Jane Murdoch had been appointed to the position of first voilin. A recitalist and a former co-leader of the BT Scottish Ensemble, Jane studied at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama and her teachers included present members of the Edinburgh Quartet.
