The Janet Buckley Memorial Prize Fund was established in 1996 by Edinburgh University Music alumni to raise a minimum of £3000 for the endowing, through investment, of a Music Faculty prize for scholarship in, and performance of, music before 1750.  This concert is to commemorate a fondly-remembered University colleague, Janet Buckley (B.Mus 1969). who died in 1975 at the tragically early age of 27.  While Janet's great love was for Baroque music, she also had a strong interest in the music of Hugo Wolf and of the French composers of the late 19th and early 20th centuries and this is reflected in this evening's concert
