There are a number of uncertainties concerning this programme. Firstly, no year is recorded. However, using the date and day of the week printed at the top of the sheet (Wednesday 8 May) it is likely that the concert took place alternatively in 1935, 1940 or 1946, all years when the 8 May fell on a Wednesday. The personnel involved (Gál moved to Edinburgh at the outbreak of WWII), style of programme and price suggest 1940 as the most likely.
Of the 12 concerti concerti that make up Corelli's op. 6, three (nos. 1, 4 and 7) are in the key of D major; the movement titles given in the programme strongly suggest that op. 6 no. 1 was performed on this occasion.
