On p.10 of the brochure there is a list of lectures given in support and in advance of the concerts at 7pm as follows: Edward Harper, 'The Piano Music of Bartok' (30 May), Hans Gal, 'The Violin/Harpsichord Concertos' (5 June), and Michael Chibbett, 'French and Italian Elements in Bach' (12 June). There is also an advert for a recording of the harpsichord used on 5 and 6 June, and a note of some of the items to be performed at the 'Bach at St Cecilia's Hall 1977' series.

A lecture on the programme "The violin/harpsichord concertos" was given by Hans Gal at 7 pm in the Laigh Room (a room on the ground floor immediately below the concert room).

The lecture was followed by a buffet supper with wine at 7.45 pm  Tickets for the buffet supper, 75p.

During the interval of the concert coffee and biscuits on sale in the Laigh Room by kind assistance of the Friends of St Cecilia's Hall

The harpsichord used in the concert was the 1637 Johannes Ruckers and the pitch was a1=415Hz. According to the series brochure, the Musical Offering movements were arranged from the edition by Hans Gal (London, 1952).
