The opening item of the Reid Memorial Concert 1952 was the Funeral Music by Mozart, added to the programme to mark the death of King George VI at Sandringham, Norfolk the previous week, on 6 February 1952.
The concert closed with God Save the Queen in recognition of the accession of Queen Elizabeth.
