Annual Reid Concert 1847
The seventh annual Reid Commemoration concert was given in the Music Hall on the the afternoon of Saturday 13 February 1847. The Edinburgh Advertiser (16 Feb, 1847) reported that "every seat .. found an occupant" but we know from the press reports that the concert was not concluded until about half past five by which time the performance had lasted more than three hours and more than half the audience had left. The starting time of the concert is not known. ("The Scotsman," 17 Feb. 1847)
