Notes:

To assist this praiseworthy object the Directors of the Assembly Rooms have most liberally given the use of the rooms and Professor Bishop has with his usual kindness offered to conduct the performance.  The Edinburgh instrumental performers have given their assistance gratuitously while those from London have, with equal liberality, consented to accept of modified terms.  Mrs Bushe and Mr Templeton have offered their valuable assistance and Lieutenant-Colonel St Quintin and the officers of the 17th Lancers have granted permission for the attendance of their Band.  Aided by such a powerful concentration of talent, the Committee for establishing the Fund respectfully solicit the support and patronage of the Public in aid of so benevolent an object.  The chorus has been selected from the various Choral Societies of Edinburgh who have on this occasion agreed to accept of reduced terms.
