Vine, Carl, 1954-
Carl Vine was born in Australia in 1954 where he studied piano with Stephen Dornan and composition with Joh Exton at the University of Western Australia. He moved to Sydney in 1975, working as a free-lance composer and pianist with a variety of ensembles, theatre and dance companies. He was resident composer of the Sydney Dance Company in 1976 and the London Contemportary Dance Theatre in 1979. He has also worked in major electronic music studios in Australia and Britain. In 1970 he was co-founder of Flederman, a contemporary music ensemble which specializes in Australian new music.
