Sciarrino, Salvatore, 1947-

Salvatore Sciarrino was born in Sicily and made his composition debut at New Music Week in Palermo in 1962.  Initially self-taught he went on to study with Antonio Titone and Turi Belfiore and completed his studies in Milan and Rome. He is widely credited as having created a unique sound world.
